Dr. Stacey Lyle
Dr. Stacey D. Lyle, RPLS, PLS is a Professor of Practice at Texas A&M University with a Joint Appointment in the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Department of Geography. He has been recognized in both departments for teaching excellence in his delivery of student-centered learning. Dr. Lyle is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor, licensed to practice in Texas and Georgia. He is active in the industry with more than 35 years’ experience in stamping and sealing professional surveys as well as researching, engineering, and developing innovative geospatial technologies and software in partnership with research universities and industry. He has served as an expert witness on complex land boundaries and intellectual property legal issues nationally and internationally. Examples of industry success include serving as the Director of Machine Automation at Leica Geosystems, Team Lead of Geomatics at BP North America, and Hydrographic Marine Construction Surveyor for Fugro. Dr. Lyle was awarded Faculty Research Fellowships at both NASA and USDA. Currently, he serves on the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) as a Commissioner and as an ABET Team Chair Reviewer, assuring that accredited universities meet global standards essential to preparing graduates to enter STEM fields on an international scale.
